"No Alternative to Oli": Landless Families in Jhapa Rally Behind UML

Landless families living in Kamal Rural Municipality of Jhapa have stated that there is no alternative to the CPN (UML) and its leadership for the long-term solution of their problems.Meeting with UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, they urged him to win the upcoming election again and ensure they receive land ownership certificates.

During meetings organized in various settlements of Kamal Rural Municipality, landless families expressed that the initiatives shown by the UML leadership in solving land-related problems must continue. Locals said, "Only the UML has shown clear willpower, from forming commissions to making policy decisions."

During the meeting, Chairman Oli mentioned that although the UML-led government formed a commission and started work to solve the problems of the landless, squatters, and unplanned settlers, those efforts are often interrupted when the government changes.

"We form commissions and start the work, but after other governments come in, that process is dismantled," he said. "Ultimately, the UML has to be the one to get the work done." Chairman Oli, who is also a candidate from Jhapa Constituency No. 5 for the upcoming House of Representatives election, made commitments regarding development, housing, and employment while interacting directly with the locals.

Local residents mentioned that development plans have moved forward under the leadership of UML and Oli in a way that is changing the face of the village. They expressed their commitment to stand in favor of the UML again in the election to complete the unfinished projects. They also shared their conclusion that there is no alternative to the UML and Chairman Oli.
