Nicholas Bhusal: Gen Z Protest Will Continue Day and Night
The Gen Z group, led by Miraj Dhungana, is continuing its protest at Maitighar in Kathmandu. They began a peaceful demonstration this past Monday to pressure the interim government, demanding the resignations of Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal.
During the protest, Dr. Nicholas Bhusal stated that they will remain at the site 24 hours a day until their five main demands are met. He said, "All Gen Z prisoners must be granted amnesty, murderers must be punished, and all leaders and officials since BS 2046 must be investigated.
We also demand constitutional amendments to abolish Provincial and National Assemblies and establish a directly elected executive. Until then, our protest continues. We will eat and sleep right here."
Additionally, Dr. Bhusal claimed that the current government does not represent the Gen Z generation. He alleged it is a coalition of "foreign agents" and political parties like the Congress, UML, and Maoists.
He added, "Sushila Karki was appointed from the Congress quota, Om Prakash Aryal from the UML quota, and others from different parties. The real Gen Z youth are out here protesting because our demands have not been fulfilled."
