New Hope and Vision are More Important Than Winning Elections: RSP Leader Santosh Pariyar
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Santosh Pariyar said that providing new hope and a vision to society is more important than simply winning or losing the election.
Speaking at an interaction program with political parties in Kathmandu on Tuesday titled 'Upcoming House of Representatives Election: Challenges and Opportunities,' he emphasized that going into the election is essential to establish this new hope and perspective in society.
He stated, "Who wins the election is not the main concern; what is important is what hope this election establishes and what new vision it brings.
Therefore, in the upcoming election, who wins and who loses is not a major issue. The crucial matter is who gives new hope to society and who brings a new perspective to our social issues. That is why we must participate in this election."
He further mentioned that the election is also necessary to correct the state of the constitution and democratic system, which he feels has been knowingly or unknowingly, willingly or unwillingly, mutilated and put into a difficult position.
Expressing a feeling that the government itself might not want to hold the election, the RSP, and he personally, urged the government not to engage in activities that are anti-election.
He concluded by saying that as an individual who believes in democracy and its cultivation as a culture, his every action will remain within the bounds of democracy.
