Nepali Congress Special Convention: Closed-Door Session Begins Today

Kathmandu. The closed-door session under the second Special Convention of the Nepali Congress begins today. During the session, in-depth discussions will be held on the party’s policies, organizational structure, and future political direction.

According to the Convention Management Secretariat, following the completion of the inaugural session on Sunday evening, the closed-door session will start this morning after breakfast. The formal program is scheduled to begin no later than 10 a.m.

More than 2,600 delegates are participating in the special convention, which was convened under the leadership of General Secretary Gagan Thapa after pressure from party representatives. It is expected that views will be expressed on organizational problems within the party, the role of leadership, and the need for policy reforms.

The closed-door session will be conducted in accordance with an approved procedure and will be chaired by the senior-most member. Policy and organizational reports will be presented during the session, followed by discussions on those reports.
