Nepali Congress Forms Dialogue Committee to Resolve Dispute Over Special Convention
Kathmandu: A dialogue committee has been formed between the factions supporting the Special Convention and the establishment group of the Nepali Congress to resolve the dispute surrounding the Special Convention. The committee has been set up to facilitate discussions between representatives of both sides regarding the convention.
The committee was formed with the aim of resolving internal party disputes through mutual agreement. It includes members from the side led by General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwprakash Sharma, who are organizing the Special Convention, as well as representatives from the establishment faction.
The Special Convention supporters’ dialogue committee includes Central Committee members Pradeep Paudel and Madhu Acharya, along with leaders Gururaj Ghimire and Devaraj Chalise.
On the other hand, the establishment faction and Dr. Shekhar Koirala’s side are represented by former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khaṇ, leader Ramesh Lekhak, Deputy General Secretary Jeevan Pariyar, and leader Dr. Minendra Rizal.
Leaders have stated that the dialogue will focus on resolving differences over the validity of the Special Convention, party constitution, leadership, and the future direction of the party through consensus.
While a concrete outcome is expected from the talks, no official information regarding the results has been released yet.
