Nepali Congress Chitwan Not to Recommend Names Included in Proportional List After Last Constituent Assembly Election
Nepali Congress (NC) Chitwan has decided not to recommend for the proportional representation (PR) list those individuals whose names were included in the PR list following the last Constituent Assembly election. The party's meeting on Thursday established this criterion for making recommendations.
According to District President Rajeshwar Khanal, the recommendations were made by setting criteria for the National Assembly election to be held on Magh 11 and the direct and proportional elections to be held on Falgun 21.
He stated that individuals who, after the second Constituent Assembly election in 2070 BS, secured success at the federal or provincial level through a system other than direct election, while holding active membership within the district, have this time only been recommended for direct elections.
As a result, prominent figures such as Party Central Treasurer Umesh Shrestha, Central Member Anjani Shrestha, Central Member Shanti Pariyar, and former Bagmati Province Minister Milanbabu Shrestha, among others, will not be recommended for the proportional representation list this time.
District President Khanal informed that the names received from all three constituencies will be forwarded to the central committee with the district's opinion, based on the criteria established.
