Nepali Congress Central Working Committee Meeting Resumes After Three-Day Break

KATHMANDU. The Central Working Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) has resumed today at the party's central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur.

The meeting had been postponed for three days following the demise of NC leader and former minister Mohammad Aftab Alam.

The central committee, which originally commenced on October 14, is dedicated to analyzing the political situation that emerged in the wake of the 'Gen Z' movement, defining the party's role, and formulating its strategy for the future. An emergency meeting held last Saturday had passed a condolence motion on the death of leader Alam.

A central point of contention within the ongoing discussions is whether the party should proceed with its regularly scheduled 15th General Convention or call for a Special General Convention instead.

This internal debate is part of the party's broader effort to determine its organizational and political direction moving forward.
