Nepali Congress Central Executive Committee Meeting Continues Today
Kathmandu: The Central Executive Committee of the Nepali Congress is set to meet again today. The meeting is focused on discussing the framework and schedule of the party's 15th General Convention.
According to party spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat, the meeting, which has been ongoing since Wednesday, has been scheduled to convene today at 1 PM at the party office in Sanepa.
There has been widespread demand for revisions to the convention schedule, which many feel is not practical. In yesterday’s meeting, most leaders expressed the need for a schedule that is timely and manageable. Emphasis was placed on moving the convention process forward in a way that strengthens the party organization.
During the meeting, General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa provided a detailed briefing on the convention and active membership matters.
He proposed that local and regional conventions be completed first, followed directly by the central general convention. Central committee members are expected to continue discussing their views on Thapa’s proposal in today’s meeting.
