Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader and former Health Minister Pradip Paudel has stated that the Nepali Congress cannot head into the scheduled election of Falgun 21, 2082 B.S. under the leadership of party Chairman and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
He asserted that, considering the current political situation, the party can only contest the election under new generation's leadership.
Paudel praised the work done by Deuba in the past but emphasized that the leadership must now be handed over to the new generation. He pointed out that Deuba has been in leadership for 30 years, and it is now the turn of the "second generation".
"Sher Bahadur Deuba has been at the helm of the party for 30 years. It is high time the leadership was transferred to the new generation," Paudel remarked, underscoring the necessity for a generational shift to revive the party's electoral prospects.
The statement by Paudel, a prominent youth face within the party, is expected to further intensify the internal debate within the Nepali Congress regarding the need for leadership change before the crucial polls.
