International Friendly Match: Nepal U-20 Women’s Team vs. Yunnan Youth Women’s Team
Kathmandu. An international friendly football match between the Nepali National U-20 Women's football team and China's Yunnan Youth Women's team is scheduled to be held at Dasharath Stadium on January 31, 2026.
During a press conference held in Kathmandu on Monday, it was announced that the match is being organized jointly by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), Yunnan University’s Faculty of Physical Education, and the Nepal Overseas Chinese Association, with coordination from the Chinese Embassy in Nepal and the National Sports Council.
Organized to celebrate the Chinese New Year, this match is expected to enhance the preparation and international experience of the Nepali U-20 women's team.
Additionally, it is believed that such friendly matches will provide players with the opportunity to compete in an international environment and contribute significantly to the overall development of Nepali women's football.
The program also includes cultural performances reflecting the diverse cultures of Nepal and China before the match. The Chinese team is scheduled to arrive in Nepal on January 29, 2026. ANFA has been organizing similar friendly matches between Nepali and Chinese youth teams for the past three years.
The Nepali National U-20 women's team is currently in closed camp training under the leadership of head coach Yam Prasad Gurung. The match will be broadcast live on the South Asia Network TV website.
