Necessary Steps Will Be Taken to Control Pollution in the Srisiya River: Minister Yadav

Birgunj (Parsa) – Minister for Drinking Water, Pradeep Yadav, has stated that necessary steps will be taken to control the pollution of the Srisiya River.

Addressing a discussion program held today in Parsa district regarding pollution control of the Srisiya River, Minister Yadav emphasized that the increasing pollution in the river is being taken seriously and that immediate and long-term solutions will be pursued through necessary actions.

He said, “To control the pollution, with loan assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and under the co-financing project of the Ministry of Drinking Water, a budget will be allocated, and an action plan will be developed and implemented. The ministry will provide necessary support for the conservation of the river and pollution control.”

Similarly, he urged the Birgunj Metropolitan City to submit a necessary proposal as soon as possible to control the increasing pollution of the Srisiya River.

Minister Yadav further expressed that sustainable solutions to pollution control are possible only through cooperation between the local level, provincial government, and federal government, and reaffirmed the ministry’s full commitment to take necessary initiatives to control river pollution.

Rajeshman Singh, Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City, informed that the municipality will submit the required proposal for pollution control of the Srisiya River and requested additional support from the ministry.

The discussion program was attended by representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Director General of the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage Management Er.
