Nepali Congress Special Convention Procedure Passed
Kathmandu, Jan 12: The closed session of the special convention organized by the supporters of the Nepali Congress special convention has passed the 'Nepali Congress Special Central Convention Procedure-2082'. The procedure passed by the closed session held at Bhrikutimandap today includes a provision to dissolve the Central Working Committee.
The procedure mentions the dissolution of the existing Central Working Committee elected since the 14th Convention of the Congress in 2078 (Mangsir 24 to 28) as its term has ended, and provides for the election of a new Central Working Committee until the 15th Convention of the Congress is completed.
Similarly, the special central convention will be chaired by the party president, and in their absence, the eldest member present at the convention will preside.
Furthermore, the procedure specifies that if the closed session of the special central convention is conducted under the chairmanship of the eldest member, a five-member presidency committee will be formed from among the convention delegates to ensure the ease and continuity of the session program.
