NC Leader Angdembe Calls for Collective Efforts on World Environment Day

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party Leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe has called on all citizens to make a collective effort to build a clean, green, and sustainable environment on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Issuing a message of wishes on the occasion of the day on Friday, he said that environment conservation is not only a duty toward nature but a shared responsibility toward the present and future generations.

Angdembe mentioned that challenges like climate change, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, and pollution have seriously affected the global community, stating that collective effort is indispensable to solve such problems.

Mentioning that Nepal is a country rich in natural heritage, he said that it is the need of the day to maintain a balance between development and environment while protecting the mountains, hills, plains, rivers, forests, and biodiversity.

He said, "While carrying out development and construction activities, we must all be committed to internalizing the principles of sustainable development while minimizing the environmental impact."

He expressed confidence that it would remind everyone of their responsibility toward nature and inspire them to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle.

Angdembe urged the government, private sector, and all stakeholders to strengthen the environment conservation campaign starting right from homes, communities, and workplaces, calling on everyone to be committed to building a clean and safe future.
