Dr. Shekhar Koirala Highlights Relevance of BP Koirala’s National Reconciliation Policy
Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has stated that BP Koirala’s policy of national reconciliation has become even more relevant amidst changing global politics and internal challenges.
In a message issued on National Reconciliation Day, Dr. Koirala noted that the policy introduced five decades ago to protect a geopolitically sensitive country like Nepal during the conflict and pressure of global superpowers remains equally important today.
He pointed out that global politics is once again leaning toward the interests and pressures of superpowers, making it necessary to embrace BP’s vision through thought, word, and deed.
Dr. Koirala emphasized that national unity and reconciliation is no longer just a concern for the Nepali Congress but a shared responsibility of all sovereign Nepalis. He wrote that achieving national unity requires the alert vigilance and solidarity of all citizens beyond the scope of power politics.
He further mentioned that unity within the Congress party is the first step toward national unity and urged members to set aside internal disputes, differences, and personal ambitions to move forward unitedly in future national elections.
He also warned that the relevance of the Congress party itself could face a crisis if it loses the trust of the people.
