Journalist Kuber Giri Honored with National Film Journalism Award
Kathmandu. Ratopati journalist Kuber Giri has been honored with the 'National Film Journalism Award 2083'. Giri was honored with a flower garland, trophy, and certificate of appreciation during a grand ceremony held on Thursday evening on the occasion of the '27th Anniversary of the Film Journalists Association and National Film Journalism Day'.
The honor was presented by Film Development Board Chairman Dinesh DC, megastar Rajesh Hamal, evergreen actress Karishma Manandhar, senior actresses Bhuwan Chand, Basundhara Bhusal, Chaitya Devi Sinr, actress Rekha Thapa, and actor Nikhil Upreti, among others.
Giri, who has been active in film journalism for over two decades, has already received more than four dozen national and international awards and honors. Giri, who is also the former vice-president of the Film Journalists Association, has also served on the Central Film Censorship Committee of the Government of Nepal.
Having previously worked with various weeklies, radio and FM stations, three national dailies, and Nepal Television, Giri has been associated with Ratopati for the past decade.
During the event, the Association also honored Ananta Wagle with the 'National Film Journalism Silver Honor 2083' and Jayan Subba Manandhar with the 'National Film Journalism Honor 2083'.
Similarly, Suraksha Bhattarai was awarded the Late Journalist Dinesh Sitaula Memorial 'National Film Journalism Award 2083' and Baikuntha Raj Parajuli was awarded the 'National Film Journalism Award 2083'.
The late journalist Dinesh Sitaula was posthumously honored with the 'National Film Journalism Posthumous Special Honor 2083'. Journalist Milan Dhungel was also awarded the 'National Film Journalism Encouragement Award 2083' at the event.
