Nepali Congress Demands Immediate National Assembly Session
The Nepali Congress (NC) has requested the Chairperson of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal, to call a session of the upper house immediately.
On Sunday, a team led by the NC Chief Whip, Krishna Bahadur Rokaya, met with Chairperson Dahal to inform him of the party's official decision.
The party’s parliamentary group met on December 25 (Poush 10) to discuss the current political situation.
They argued that because the House of Representatives has been dissolved in an unconstitutional way, the National Assembly is the only active part of Parliament where the people's voices can be heard.
Therefore, the NC has urged the Chairperson to coordinate with the relevant authorities to call a session right away.
Other National Assembly members, including Kamala Devi Panta, Kiran Babu Shrestha, Bishnu Sapkota, and Padam Pariyar, were also present at the meeting.
