Candidates to File Nominations for National Assembly Election Today
Kathmandu, Poush 23: Candidates across the country are filing their nominations today for the upcoming National Assembly election. The Election Commission is organizing this vote on Magh 11 to fill 18 seats that will soon become vacant.
Following the publication of the final voter list on Poush 22, the commission has designated today, Poush 23, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for the official registration of candidates.
The election process will continue with the filing of complaints against candidates on Poush 24, while those wishing to withdraw their names must do so by Poush 27, which is also when the final list of candidates will be made public.
Candidates will receive their official election symbols on Poush 28, leading up to the main voting day on Magh 11, where polling will occur between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. These 18 positions are set to become vacant on Falgun 20.
The voters for this election consist of Provincial Assembly members and top local officials, including Mayors and Chairpersons, with their voting power determined by the 2078 National Census.
