Narayan Kaji Shrestha Resigns from National Assembly

Narayan Kaji Shrestha, a member of the National Assembly, has resigned. According to Ekram Giri, spokesperson for the Federal Parliament Secretariat, he submitted his resignation today.

Shrestha resigned from the National Assembly to prepare for contesting a direct election for the House of Representatives.

Shrestha had previously contested elections in Makwanpur in 2070 and in Gorkha in 2074. Later, in 2076, he ran for the National Assembly and won. 

The 65-year-old Shrestha’s term as a National Assembly member was set to end on 20 Falgun. About a month ago, he resigned to become a direct candidate for the House of Representatives.
