Each Vote Will Shape the Nation’s Destiny, Says Narayan Kaji Shrestha
Sarlahi — Senior leader of the Nepali Communist Party and former Deputy Prime Minister Narayankaji Shrestha has urged citizens not to view the upcoming election as merely a routine periodic vote.
During an election meeting and address organized in the Sarlahi-3 constituency, Shrestha appealed to voters, stating that this election will decisively determine the country’s future and direction.
"In this election, simply casting a vote is not enough," he said. "Every single one of our votes holds the power to either build or break the future of Nepal."
Shrestha noted that the party played a crucial role in ending autocratic rule and establishing a democratic republic. He claimed that the foundation for inclusion and equality was built through the constitution to ensure the rights of Dalits, Janajatis, women, Madhesis, Muslims, farmers, laborers, and marginalized communities.
He stated that with the arrival of federalism, government services—previously limited to the center—have now expanded to the provincial, local, and ward levels, ensuring that citizens can access services and facilities within their own localities.
Speaking on corruption control and good governance, Shrestha mentioned that legal actions have been initiated in cases such as the Bhutanese refugee scam, the Lalita Niwas land grab, and gold smuggling.
Addressing the plight of loan shark victims as a serious social issue, Shrestha highlighted that commissions have been formed, and legal and administrative initiatives have been taken to provide justice to the victims.
