Prime Minister Insulted Three Crore People: MP Pokharel
Kathmandu. CPN-UML Member of Parliament Lakshmi Prasad Pokharel has strongly objected to the Prime Minister's recent statements regarding the Nepal-India border and demanded a clarification in Parliament. Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, he noted that 19 days have passed since the Prime Minister's remarks without any self-criticism, commenting that this insults the country and its people.
He said, "It has been 19 days since the Prime Minister made those remarks, but he has not come to Parliament to admit he made a mistake. He insulted the country. He insulted three crore Nepali people. He spoke against the nation. The Prime Minister's words amounted to national betrayal. Therefore, the Prime Minister must come to Parliament and clarify this matter."
Similarly, he has also demanded the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee regarding the case of BYD vehicles imported through tax evasion.
Emphasizing the government's accountability, he stressed that an impartial investigation is necessary on this matter. "I demand that the Prime Minister come to Parliament to correct his statement, that the Prime Minister's remarks be removed from the record, and that a parliamentary inquiry committee be formed regarding the BYD vehicles brought in through tax evasion," he said.
