Minister ghising Directs Removal of Burnt Vehicles from Singha Durbar Premises

Kathmandu, 1 Ashoj: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Planning and Transport, and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, has instructed that vehicles burned during the Gen Z protest in the Singha Durbar premises be relocated and managed elsewhere.

The Minister’s Secretariat stated today that the Singha Durbar premises appeared unsightly due to the burned vehicles, and Minister Ghising has directed that they be removed and managed in another location.

“Do not let the office look shabby; we will continue work inside, but the exterior should not appear unsightly. Let’s improve it as soon as possible. Vehicles damaged and scattered around have made the Singha Durbar premises look ugly. To send a positive message, let’s immediately remove and manage them,” Minister Ghising said.

He further instructed that minor fires should be used to convey the message of resilience, outer parts of buildings affected by fires should be repainted, and vehicles damaged by the fires in ministry and office premises should be removed immediately, with a prompt assessment of the losses.

Minister Ghising clarified that reconstruction will begin through the campaign ‘Let’s Build Our Structures Ourselves,’ collecting support from the government as well as Nepalis living in Nepal and abroad.

The Ministry of Urban Development has formed a task force to assess and begin work on the damages to its subordinate structures.
