Maoist Centre Breakaway Group to Claim Party Name and Symbol
KATHMANDU. Some leaders from the CPN (Maoist Centre) who did not join the recent party unity talks are heading to the Election Commission today.
They plan to tell the Commission that they should own the party's name and its election symbol, the 'Sickle and Hammer'.
The group is being led by Sudan Kirati. They will also bring people from the Martyr's Offspring Foundation and families of martyrs to support their claim. This move shows that this group is challenging the current leaders of the Maoist Centre party.
