Manandhar Blames KP Oli for UML’s Leadership Crisis
CPN (UML) Central Member Dr. Surendra Manandhar stated that energetic cadres who dedicated time to party building have been marginalized. He attributed the UML's current crisis to the sidelining of those who contributed to the party's foundation.
Stating that UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli is incompetent, he said Oli must take both the credit and the blame for the good and bad works of the party.
Manandhar informed that he had formally tabled a written proposal in the Central Committee to correct both the movement and the party leadership, asserting that the party and the movement have now drifted into different camps.
He pointed out that the UML has a youth organization but no youth, and a farmer's organization but no farmers are with the UML.
He said the communist movement has become a victim of an accident due to the incompetence of the leadership. He criticized the leadership for getting entangled in nepotism at a time when the country is facing difficulties, thereby failing to work for the class it is supposed to serve.
Manandhar stressed that collectivism has been lost in the party and mentioned that one group is currently preparing to create chaos at the General Convention.
He emphasized the need to organize the Political Parties Act itself to make parties effective and strengthen internal democracy within the parties.
