Mahesh Basnet Praises Rajendra Rawal, Stating He 'Scared Away' the Investigation Commission
Kathmandu. CPN (UML) leader Mahesh Basnet has severely criticized the commission formed by the current government. He sarcastically referred to the commission as a 'Royal Commission' that has "embarked on a nationwide tour with the state's money."
Through his social media platform, Facebook, leader Basnet thanked Rajendra Rawal, former Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province, for his fearless statement, claiming Rawal had "scared away" the said commission.
In his post, Basnet wrote, "Former Chief Minister of SuP from Kanchanpur, Rajendra Rawal, said it right. He has scared away the commission formed by the current INGO-supported government, which acts like a 'Royal Commission' that has embarked on a nationwide tour with the state's money. Many, many thanks, Comrade Rawal, for such a fearless warning on behalf of the people."
He raised questions about the government's intentions and emphasized that the government's actions must be brought under control, alleging that it is protecting the guilty and criminals, and instead, is "declaring the victims—whose homes and property were destroyed by fire—as the perpetrators."
