Mahabir Pun Calls for Ideas, Not Congratulations
Kathmandu – Nepal’s newly appointed Minister for Education, Science, and Technology has made his first public announcement through Facebook, urging citizens to share practical ideas instead of offering him congratulations.
In his post, the Minister, who is also a scientist, requested people not to call or visit him with garlands or ceremonial greetings. Instead, he appealed for concrete plans and innovative suggestions in the fields of education, science, and technology that can be executed within the next five months. He invited the public to send their proposals directly to his WhatsApp.
The Minister also humorously added that he does not want to be addressed simply as a “minister.” “If anyone insists on calling me a minister, please call me the ‘Kabadi Scientist Minister,’” he wrote.
