Madhesh Provincial Assembly Meeting Postponed
The Madhesh Provincial Assembly meeting in Janakpur has been postponed until 2:00 PM today.
The meeting was scheduled to include a vote of confidence for Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav, but the Chief Minister himself was absent.
As the proposer of the motion was absent, Deputy Speaker Babita Kumari Raut Ishar announced the postponement of the meeting until 2:00 PM today.
The Supreme Court had issued a mandamus on Monday, ordering Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav to take a vote of confidence within 24 hours.
Yesterday (Tuesday) evening, Chief Minister Yadav held a press conference and informed the public that since he received the letter late, he would take the vote of confidence this morning.
The Madhesh Provincial Assembly meeting, which was initially slated to begin at 8:30 AM, finally started at 10:30 AM, but Chief Minister Yadav was not present in the meeting.
