Madhesh Province Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav to Seek Vote of Confidence Today
Janakpur – The newly appointed Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Krishna Prasad Yadav, is set to take a vote of confidence today.
Chief Minister Yadav is scheduled to seek the floor for the vote of confidence during the Madhesh Province Assembly meeting at 4:00 PM this afternoon. Yadav, the parliamentary party leader of the Nepali Congress, was appointed Chief Minister on Mangsir 19 with the support of 77 assembly members from seven different parties.
He was appointed by the Province Head in accordance with Article 168, Clause (2) of the Constitution of Nepal. Following the constitutional requirement to obtain a vote of confidence within 30 days of appointment, Chief Minister Yadav is moving forward with the process this Friday.
Chief Minister Yadav currently enjoys the support of JSP Nepal, CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Nagarik Unmukti Party, LSP, and Janamat Party.
