Rajendra Lingden Proposes New Agreement Between King, Parties, and Youth

Kathmandu: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has stated that a fresh agreement among the King, political parties, and the younger generation is necessary to keep the decision-making power for Nepal's future in the hands of the Nepali people.

Speaking at an interaction with RPP candidates in Kathmandu on Sunday, he mentioned that while elections are not the solution to the current problems, the party decided to participate and utilize the polls rather than opting for a revolt, being a democratic party.

He said, "The announced election is not the solution to the problem. We had suggested the government to go for elections only after forging a new agreement between the King, political parties, and the new generation to prevent another rebellion in the country and to keep Nepal's decisiveness in the hands of the Nepali people.

However, the country was forcibly pushed into elections. As a democratic party, we chose to participate and utilize the election instead of going into revolt."

He further noted that the country has reached a state where the question of its very existence has become more critical than infrastructure development. He claimed that since RPP is a party with a specific vision to make the country prosperous, it would definitely lead the nation to success if given the opportunity.

He stated that voting is not like watching Facebook reels; it is a serious act of transferring power, comparable to a sacrifice.

Lingden asserted that RPP possesses the capacity to transform the country in a short period. He also urged citizens not to vote based on whims or under the influence of any allurements.
