Kulman Ghising Preparing to Register New Party, 'Ujyalo Nepal' Proposed

Kathmandu: Preparations for the registration of a new political party under the leadership of Kulman Ghising, an experienced administrator in the energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors and currently an influential minister in the interim government, are in their final stages.

According to available information, the party is preparing to submit an application to the Election Commission, proposing the name 'Ujyalo Nepal' (Bright Nepal) and the election symbol as an electric bulb. It is reported that work is underway to finalize the names of the 21-member Central Committee today (Tuesday) and register the party by tomorrow.

The initial structure of the party's Central Committee will consist only of a coordinator and Central Committee members. Discussions are underway to form a 21-member Central Committee. There is a possibility that two members from the team of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah will be included in the committee. Similarly, Sumana Shrestha, who recently left the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is also expected to join the Kulman team.

It is also understood that 2-3 names from the team of Sudhan Gurung, who has been running an alternative political campaign, have been recommended for the Central Committee.

Sources indicate that since Kulman Ghising is serving as a minister in the interim government, the decision on whether he will personally take on the role of Party Chairperson has not yet been finalized. They are moving forward with the ambition of emerging as an alternative force in Nepali politics.
