Nepali Congress Leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula Calls for National Unity as Elections Approach
Kathmandu: Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula has stated that the country has entered the election phase and emphasized the need for national unity. Speaking at a meeting of the National Assembly, Sitaula stressed that the elections should be able to foster national unity.
He said, "The country has entered the election phase. May this election be able to build national unity. If all political parties and all members of parliament do not unite at the policy level, Nepal will grow weaker day by day. Unity is needed within every political party, and unity is also needed among all political parties collectively."
He warned that Nepal would become increasingly weak if all political parties and lawmakers failed to unite at the policy level. Additionally, he mentioned that unity is necessary both within each political party and across the entire political system.
Leader Sitaula stated that political leaders should abandon the tendency to criticize one another. He urged candidates from all parties to go among the people and strive to win their trust and hearts.
He further noted that all political parties must play a responsible role to ensure the elections are completed in a peaceful and fair manner.
He said, "Rather than political party members criticizing one another, I urge candidates from all parties to reach out to the people. All political parties must make an effort to win the hearts and trust of the people. May the elections be completed in a peaceful and fair manner."
