KP Sharma Oli Ready for Public Debate

Kathmandu. CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has stated that he is ready for a public debate. Sharing his views through the social media platform Facebook, he portrayed the electoral competition as a contest between those who seek to build the nation and those who would destroy it.

Chairman Oli mentioned that all parties, both old and new, are now involved in the election, claiming that his party, the CPN-UML, has entered the field on the side of nation-building.

Referring to the recent demands from public intellectual circles for a transparent debate among top leaders, he noted that he views this development positively. "The demand for a public debate may have arisen because of an increasing tendency to hide one's true character behind framed promotional materials on social media," Oli wrote.

According to him, parties ranging from those that played historical roles to those established after the last election or formed recently have entered the field by naming prime ministerial candidates.

Oli believes there should be a face-to-face debate regarding what the parties aspiring to lead the country did during their previous terms and what their future plans and roadmaps are.

"The demand for a face-to-face debate on such questions is extremely positive," Oli wrote. "I am ready to stand in a public debate and present the agenda of what we have done and how we will work moving forward."

He expressed his commitment to answering direct questions alongside all leaders who have become prime ministerial candidates after the election and to placing his agenda publicly.

Additionally, he urged organizers to hold such a public debate and ensure the participation of all sides.
