Dr. Shekhar Koirala Urges Divided Leaders to Return to Nepali Congress

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has called upon those who split from the party to return home. Issuing an appeal on Sunday, he conveyed a message stating, "Let us all return home, let us return to Congress. No one loses or wins here; we can move forward in a win-win situation for everyone."

Stating that the Herculean effort to keep the Congress united was unsuccessful, he mentioned that he does not wish to further cloud national politics by discussing who is guilty or innocent behind this. "I have no hesitation in admitting that we have all faltered somewhere," he said.

He further added, "As a witness to many events that occurred during this period, I leave the responsibility of an objective review of this accident and the evaluation of individual roles to history. We passed through many visible and invisible contradictions during this time. Numerous national and international conspiracies were woven in the capital, and we could not stop the interests of those who wanted to weaken the Congress."

Dr. Koirala admitted that while there was an honest effort by everyone to ensure that the Congress entered the upcoming elections united, that could not happen.
