Kim Jong Un: Attacks on Iran Justify North Korea’s Nuclear Path
North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un has expressed satisfaction, stating that the decision for the country to possess nuclear weapons has been proven right. According to state-run media, he said that the attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel have validated North Korea's decision to maintain a nuclear arsenal.
Referring to the ongoing war in West Asia, Kim argued that in today's world, only a strong military power can keep a country safe. In his speech, he reiterated a tough stance toward South Korea and pledged to further strengthen nuclear weapons to deter the United States.
In his written speech, it was mentioned that the decision to increase nuclear weapons after the failure of talks with then-U.S. President Donald Trump in 2019 was the most correct step. Kim stated that North Korea will now play a more active role in a "joint front" against the United States.
Although he did not mention Trump's name directly, he noted that whether his opponents choose confrontation or peace depends on their own behavior.
