Election Commission Seeks Clarification from Jagdish Kharel
Kathmandu: The Election Commission has directed Jagdish Kharel, a candidate from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, to submit a clarification within three days.
According to the Commission's legal officer, Mohan Raj Joshi, the clarification was requested because he was found to have led a procession larger than the permitted limit during the registration of his candidacy on January 20th.
The Commission has asked for an explanation regarding whether or not party flags were used and a larger-than-permitted procession was conducted in violation of the provisions of sub-section 1 of section 13 of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082.
The Commission stated that the clarification must be submitted either in person or through a representative within the stipulated time.
