Jhalanath Khanal Criticizes Government Over Gen Z Protests
Kathmandu: Jhalanath Khanal, a leader of the Nepali Communist Party, has expressed strong anger toward the current government. He called the government’s way of working "irresponsible."
While talking to reporters at the airport on Monday, Khanal said the government is failing to do its job. He pointed out that not even one person responsible for the violence during the "Gen Z" protests has been punished.
"Those who caused destruction during the Gen Z movement are criminals against the country," Khanal said. "The whole nation is asking: will the government punish them or not? So far, not a single person has been arrested. I am very angry at the government’s laziness and lack of responsibility."
He also said that the young people (Gen Z) were tricked by groups from both inside and outside the country who want to hold Nepal back. He asked the youth to think carefully about whether the violence ruined their own future.
"They fell into a trap set by people who are against the country. They did not understand their duty or their responsibility to Nepal. Instead, they caused damage," he said.
"They didn't just hurt the country; they burned the future of the Gen Z youth. I ask all young brothers and sisters to think with their hearts: Did this violence not destroy your own future? You need to realize that your future is being ruined."
