Binita Kathayat Accuses Gyanendra Bahadur Shahi of Spreading Misinformation

Binita Kathayat, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate for the House of Representatives from Jumla, has leveled serious political allegations against Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) candidate Gyanendra Bahadur Shahi.

During a press conference organized in Khalanga on Wednesday, Kathayat claimed that Shahi has been spreading misleading propaganda among voters by suggesting that the 'Plow' and the 'Bell' are the same election symbols.

According to Kathayat, the information spread by Shahi in various villages—urging voters to vote for the 'Plow' in the direct elections and the 'Bell' in the proportional representation category—is a planned lie.

She characterized this as a daring attempt to deceive voters and an attack on democracy. Furthermore, she dismissed Shahi's statement regarding Balen Shah being prevented from coming to Jumla as "baseless." She clarified that Balen's team returned due to health issues.

Questioning Shahi’s political morality, Kathayat made a sensational revelation that he had previously lobbied to get a ticket from the RSP itself. She remarked that it is political opportunism for a person who once knocked on the RSP's door to now spread rumors against the same party.

She further alleged that Shahi did no concrete work for Jumla during his tenure as a Member of Parliament and instead relied on the politics of provocation. Stating that any cooperation with forces carrying the agenda of monarchy is impossible, she warned Shahi to issue a public apology.
