Holding Elections Without Re-voting a Great Achievement: Prime Minister Karki

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has emphasized that the standards set by the Election Commission during the 2082 House of Representatives elections should be maintained in future elections.

At a reception organized by the Election Commission of Nepal at its Bahadur Bhavan office premises today to mark the completion of the 2082 House of Representatives elections, Prime Minister Karki stated that the precedent of successful, peaceful elections without the need for re-voting at any polling station across the country must be upheld.

Recalling the legal and political vacuum and security sensitivities that existed when she was appointed Prime Minister in the last week of Bhadra, she noted that the democratic values have been put back on track by successfully conducting the elections despite those conditions.

During the program, Prime Minister Karki shared that while the elections were challenging in the early days, they were made possible through the Commission's determination and the government's support.
