JSP Nepal Directs Committees to Recommend Candidates for Direct Elections

The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal has issued a directive to submit the names of candidates for the First-Past-The-Post (direct) category under the House of Representatives elections.

According to Purna Basnet, head of the Publicity and Publication Department, the party's provincial and district committees have been instructed to select and recommend eligible individuals who meet the criteria and qualifications as stipulated in Article 117, Clause (3) of the party constitution.

He stated that, per the circular issued by the party on Magh 16, provincial and district committees were requested on Thursday to collect candidate names—along with the decisions of the respective House of Representatives regional committees—and ensure they reach the party’s central office within seven days.

The committees have also been asked to include the political background and contributions made to the party for each recommended candidate.

It has been noted that the final selection of candidates will be made by the Federal Parliamentary Board, coordinated by Party Chairperson Upendra Yadav.
