Janata Samajwadi Party Condemns Harassment of Candidate Dr. JP Yadav in Sarlahi

Malangwa (Sarlahi) — The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), Nepal, has expressed serious concern over the harassment of Dr. JP Yadav, the House of Representatives candidate for Sarlahi Constituency No. 3, in Bagmati.

During a press conference held in the district headquarters, Malangwa, on Thursday, Dr. Yadav reported that he was subjected to uncivilized behavior on Wednesday afternoon while meeting voters.

According to him, the individual used derogatory language, saying things like, "Madhesis eat for twenty or thirty rupees, get out of here," and insulted the Madhesi community’s status with ethnically motivated slurs.

Dr. Yadav stated that such an incident occurring during a democratic dialogue with voters is unacceptable, emphasizing that any form of discrimination against the Madhesi community will not be tolerated. He strongly condemned the act and demanded legal action against the perpetrator.

Speaking at the press conference, JSP District Chairman Randhir Yadav urged the relevant authorities to conduct an impartial investigation and bring those involved to justice.

He warned that if there is a delay in the legal process or if there is an attempt to protect the guilty, the party will launch a protest program. He also called on the security agencies to be more proactive in ensuring a peaceful, safe, and fear-free election environment.

Similarly, former LOSAPA District Chairman and current JSP leader Ram Prasad Yadav emphasized that the election must be held in a free and fair atmosphere. He stated that all parties and stakeholders must act responsibly to maintain healthy political competition.

Meanwhile, the District Police Office, Sarlahi, has taken one individual into custody in connection with the incident and is conducting further investigations. According to the police, the arrested individual has been identified as local resident Prashant Waiba.
