Kathmandu – The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal has decided to establish IT cells in every district across the country. The initiative aims to strengthen the party’s communication mechanism and bring more systematic use of social media into party activities.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the party’s Information, Communication, and Science & Technology Department held on Friday at the party’s central office in Balkumari. According to Mahesh Chaurasiya, secretary of the department and head of JSP’s Central IT Cell, the expansion will cover structures from the central to grassroots level.
Chaurasiya explained that with the growing influence of digital technology, the party plans to promote its ideology and agendas more effectively on mainstream social media platforms. A 33-member central IT cell under his leadership has already been formed to spearhead the initiative.
The meeting, chaired by department head Jitendra Yadav, also decided to instruct district presidents to mobilize and form district-level IT cells, incorporating active leaders and cadres from social media. Letters regarding the move will be dispatched on Sunday.
In addition, the department will also set up provincial-level structures in all seven provinces. To finalize the organizational framework and future action plan of the IT department and cells, a four-member committee has been formed.
