Kathmandu. India is grandly celebrating its 77th Republic Day today in commemoration of the historic day its constitution came into effect. President Droupadi Murmu will lead the main ceremony organized at Kartavya Path in the capital, New Delhi.
This year, the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will participate as chief guests. Kartavya Path, which stretches from Rashtrapati Bhawan to the National War Memorial, has been decorated to reflect India's constitution, cultural diversity, military strength, and development journey.
The ceremony will begin at 10:30 AM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will observe the parade after paying tribute to the martyrs at the National War Memorial.
The parade will showcase attractive tableaus from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with advanced weapon systems, missiles, tanks, drone technology, and indigenously developed defense equipment. For the first time this year, the Indian Army's "Battle Array Format" will be presented.
Additionally, heroes who have received the Param Vir Chakra and Ashoka Chakra will be honored. With the message of "Unity in Diversity" and "Self-reliant India," 30 tableaus will highlight India's cultural heritage and progress. ANI
