IGP Karki Reaches Manohara Riverside Following Clash
Kathmandu. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki has reached the field himself after stones were pelted at police during the removal of encroached structures on the banks of the Manohara River.
Following an attack on Saturday that left about a dozen police officers injured, security has been tightened in the area since Sunday morning.
To prevent the situation from becoming more tense and to keep the morale of security personnel high, IGP Karki conducted an on-site monitoring visit and gave instructions to remain mindful of human sensitivity.
He also interacted directly with local residents and urged them to cooperate in the task of clearing government land. With the leadership personally involved on the ground, the work to remove the encroachment has now become more organized and coordinated.
