Hitendra Dev Shakya Reinstated as Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority

Hitendra Dev Shakya, the former Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) who was removed from his post by Kulman Ghising, has resumed his duties.

Following the Supreme Court's mandamus order, Shakya arrived at the NEA office at 10 AM on Wednesday and took charge of his position. He appeared to be in a very cheerful mood while resuming his duties.

Shakya had approached the Supreme Court against Kulman Ghising's decision, arguing that he had been unjustly removed despite being appointed for a five-year term.

On Monday, the bench of Justices Nahkul Subedi and Shrikanth Paudel issued a writ of mandamus, directing Shakya to continue working in his former capacity as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority.
