Heat Wave Warning Issued for Terai and Hill Districts

Kathmandu. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is a possibility of hot days and heat waves in various districts of the Terai and hills until Thursday, Baisakh 10. Citizens have been urged to take necessary precautions.

According to meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane, there is a possibility of a moderate heat wave in Kanchanpur, Kailali, Doti, Bardiya, Banke, Dang, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, and West Nawalparasi.

Similarly, hot days are expected across all parts of Madhesh Province, the Terai and hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, as well as the hilly areas, gorges, and valleys of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim Provinces. Temperatures are also projected to gradually rise in other areas.

Meteorologist Lamichhane noted that hot winds and heat waves can cause health issues such as fatigue, weakness, excessive thirst, headaches, leg cramps, dizziness, fainting, muscle pain, and vomiting.

Therefore, to protect against the heat, it is suggested to stay indoors or in cool places, avoid going outside in the blazing sun, cover the head or use an umbrella if necessary, perform outdoor work in the morning or evening, wear light clothing, and consume plenty of water and fruit juice. If health problems arise, people are requested to contact the nearest health institution for necessary advice.
