Health Minister and South Korean Ambassador Meet
Kathmandu. A courtesy meeting was held between the Minister for Health and Food Hygiene, Nisha Mehta, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal, His Excellency Park Tae-young. During the meeting held at the Ministry on Tuesday, various matters concerning the friendly relations between Nepal and the Republic of Korea, as well as bilateral cooperation in the health sector, were discussed.
In particular, views were exchanged on making cooperation more effective in the areas of health insurance programs, capacity development of health workforce, strengthening of health infrastructure, expansion of quality health services, promotion of health tourism, and production of herbs and medicines.
On this occasion, Minister Mehta requested that special attention be given to ensuring the health security and access to health services for Nepali workers employed in Korea.
In response, His Excellency the Ambassador stated that the Government of the Republic of Korea remains committed to continuously supporting the priority areas of the Government of Nepal, expressing confidence that the cooperation between the two countries will become even stronger and more result-oriented in the days ahead.
