The Council of Gen Z to Field HB Khatri to Compete Against Mahesh Basnet in Bhaktapur-2

Kathmandu. The Council of Gen Z, led by Sudan Gurung, has recommended author and activist HB Khatri as a candidate to compete against CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet.

Under the Council of Gen Z, the Bagmati Provincial Committee, led by Afsana Banu, has recommended candidates for direct elections in various districts.

The Council has recommended HB Khatri from Bhaktapur Constituency No. 2. Khatri will compete against UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet. The Council stated that it has moved forward with preparations for the upcoming election with the aim of increasing youth representation.

Khatri, who hails from Rom Chhap, has started preparations to contest the election from Bhaktapur-2, where he resides. He said that by bringing technology, skills, and knowledge into Nepal, he aims to make Nepal a country that sells solutions rather than one that consumes aid.

HB Khatri, who is also the author of the book "Swatantra Netritwabaad" (Independent Leadership), is popular among Nepali youth. Having served the injured following the Gen Z movement, Khatri is also an individual who played a significant role in making Sudan Gurung successful.

Khatri, who has also received international-level leadership training, has a strong chance of winning the election if he becomes a candidate, as the Sudan Gurung group has stated it will collaborate with the Rastriya Swatantra Party.
