US Former Vice President Harris Condemns Maduro Arrest

Agency: Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris expressed her objection on Saturday to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores.

She criticized U.S. President Donald Trump, saying that the operation was driven not by concerns over drugs but by oil interests.

Harris stated that Trump’s actions in Venezuela do not make the United States safer. She warned that forcibly changing the regime there could destabilize the region and put American lives at risk.

“Trump’s actions in Venezuela do not make America safer, stronger, or more affordable. The fact that Maduro is a cruel, illegal dictator does not change.

This action was illegal and foolish. Waging war or selling oil as a means for regime change leads to chaos, and American families will pay the price,” she wrote on social media.

Harris also accused Trump of misleading the American public, noting that U.S. citizens do not support such military actions.

Having recently run for president against Trump, Harris warned that this operation could endanger U.S. troops and lacks any legal basis or exit strategy.

Following the U.S. attack in Venezuela, President Trump held a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago residence, stating that the United States would take control of Venezuela’s vast oil reserves. – AANI
