Harka Sampang Expresses Anger Over Demolition of Squatter Settlements
Kathmandu: Harka Raj Rai (Sampang), Chairman of the Shram Sanskriti Party, has expressed his outrage over the demolition of squatter settlements.
On Sunday, he took to social media to question how many soldiers the "autocratic RSP government," which sent forces to crush squatters, had deployed to Lipulekh and Mahakali.
He wrote, "How many soldiers did the autocratic RSP government—which deployed 1,900 police personnel to crush poor Nepali squatters—send to Lipulekh and Mahakali? Or is it still preoccupied with having its car doors opened?"
He expressed grievances that people have been forced to spend their nights on the streets following the destruction of the settlements.
"Honorable Rabi Lamichhane ji, where have you disappeared? What is the government doing? People have been forced to spend their nights on the streets since yesterday," he wrote. Additionally, he urged for the parliament to be opened soon.
