Harka Sampang Accuses Government of Favoritism in Development Projects
Kathmandu. Harka Raj Rai (Sampang), Chairman of the Shram Sanskriti Party, has accused the government of behaving in a discriminatory manner toward natural heritage and local settlements in the name of development. Through social media today, he commented that the government appears lenient toward the proposed cable car project in the Mukumlung area.
"Does the government, which goes after squatter settlements, actually love the businessmen trying to install a cable car by destroying the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area and clearing rhododendron forests in Mukumlung?" he wrote.
He also stated that those who support dozers reaching others' homes today might find dozers at their own doorsteps tomorrow. He wrote, "I wonder what those who abuse me would say if a dozer arrived at their own house one day! The tiger that eats others will eat you too!"
