‘Is the Position Bigger or the Country?’: MP Harka Sampang Questions PM Balen

Kathmandu. Harka Sampang, a Member of Parliament from the Shram Sanskriti Party, has stated that Prime Minister Balen's stance regarding the border dispute must come forward, even if it is in written form.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives, he mentioned that they are continuously protesting to make the Prime Minister accountable, adding that whoever made the mistake must correct it themselves.

He said, "It is about making the Prime Minister accountable, nothing else. The idea that he shouldn't even come here and that other people have to step in to correct the mistake he made is neither justifiable nor constitutional. Do we run the parliament by rules or what? I want to question this here.

Our demand is that the concerned person who made the mistake must clarify their stance from their own level—what is the Prime Minister's stance? The stance must be presented, even if it is in written form."

Similarly, he stated that the position of the Prime Minister must be accountable to the parliament and that the parliament should function in accordance with the constitution. "Are you bigger or am I bigger? Is arrogance bigger or culture bigger? Is size bigger or type bigger? Do we push through or manage together? Is the position bigger or the country bigger? There are questions upon questions here, and I want to raise these questions.

Our movement and demand have a single objective: the position of the Prime Minister does not concern an individual. The position of the Prime Minister must be accountable to the parliament. Will this parliament function under Article 76, Clause 10 of the Constitution or not?", he said.
